Location Shoot – Kim in a rainy Newcastle

You may have seen Kim Farrier earlier in a little BTS video I shot with Chris Harrison. She looked fabulous so I wasn’t long in arranging my own shoot with her.  This was to be in Newcastle after she finished work one evening.  It being August and summer…of course it rained all day…and all through the shoot.  Therefore improvisation was needed – no way was I passing up the chance to shoot with Kim.

I had shot before in the entrance to the Phil & Lit Society building in Newcastle, so knew it was a handy location.  The people in there are great (if approached with respect and you ask nicely). Its also worth a visit if you are in Newcastle as its a great library and building. http://www.litandphil.org.uk/

Anyway the first shots of Kim were taken there.  Fuji X-T2 and 16mm 1.4 lens.  mainly natural light but a few with a fill in flash.

Then we left the Phil & Lit (it was still raining) so I headed for the “tunnels”….in reality underpasses near the railway station. Where once again Kim pulled off some amazing shots.

Mix of 16mm and 56 mm lenses

Finally..(yeah still raining) we retired to the pub to wait for Kim’s train home.  But couldn’t resist taking a few more photographs.  Well…it would have been a waste!

So as they say….sometimes you have to work with what you have.  In this case a great model….and some imagination.

Comments welcome!

Until next time…keep shooting
